Position Title: Child Care Cook Department: Child Care Worksite Location: Kincardine Early Learning Child Care Position Type: Permanent Part-Time Category: 2 Hours: Approximately 27 hours per week Shifts: Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday Salary: $17.22-$18.63 per hour. (16.22 - 17.63 PLUS additional $1.00 CWELCC per hour) Start Date: As soon as Possible Application Process: Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. As a Child Care Cook, you will have an opportunity to let your creativity shine when preparing nutritious meals and snacks for our young community members. This position is a permanent position up to 6 hours per day with possible hours within child care. Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Responsible for the preparation/delivery of food following restrictive diets according to planned menus for children (as required). \xc2\xb7 Reviews menus, post weekly menu providing menu information for parents and other teachers before preparing meals and prepares and serves them properly and attractively. \xc2\xb7 Ensures use of proper food handling techniques. \xc2\xb7 In consultation with Child Care Supervisor, makes menu substitutions as necessary and records these in the designated place(s). Meets time schedule for of snacks and lunch meals and nourishments. \xc2\xb7 Follows daily recipes and daily composite menus, while working within a set budget. \xc2\xb7 Dates, labels, and stores food properly. \xc2\xb7 Grocery shopping based on needs associated with weekly meal planning and stores according to needs. \xc2\xb7 Maintain a clean (sanitary) and organized kitchen; ensure that the cleaning schedules are followed. \xc2\xb7 Maintain a working environment that meets or exceeds all requirements from the Health Department and YMCA standards. \xc2\xb7 Prepare and post weekly menu providing menu information for parents and other teachers.
