One full-time permanent Child and Youth Counsellor II, Ben Rd, position available, starting on October 13, 2025, working 37.5 hours per week.

Your Role:




Supervises, monitors, supports and coaches' clients throughout the treatment and academic components of their program. Works in partnership with multidisciplinary teams, to facilitate safe and goal-focused programs for clients. Works intentionally from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive and equity perspective to further create a sense of belonging at the Agency. Supports the sustainability of Social emotional learning. Counsel and support clients through all components of the program using therapeutic techniques such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Crisis Intervention Techniques (CIT) both in individual and group settings. Assesses, develops, and implements plans of care goals and objectives with individual clients, ensuring continuity and integration of treatment, care or custody. Actively participate in care planning meetings, liaise with families and community partners, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure comprehensive client support. Collects information, records and maintains client files and updates client and shift data. Communicates information regarding medication with Nurse. Monitors group budgets and coordinates with the Program Supervisor for additional financial requirements. Monitors the security of the facility and ensures the safety of the community in alignment with the service mandate. Works in alignment with the Agency's commitment to equity to further create a sense of belonging at the Agency.

Your Talents and Experience:




A relevant degree or diploma in child and youth work or related discipline with a minimum of one year working in a milieu setting as a Child and Youth Worker. Demonstrated ability to relate to youth with warmth and understanding and setting consistent appropriate limits. Highly developed professional, verbal and written skills, with a demonstrated ability to deal with a diverse range of people. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team while still demonstrating strong decision-making capabilities. Exceptional organizational skills and the capability of multi-tasking to meet various timelines are essential. Required to hold a "G" class license. First Aid Certificate, CPR, and CIT training.
