Youth Care Worker - Job Overview

As a Youth Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the safety, development, and well-being of children and youth with complex emotional, behavioural, and social needs. Working within a trauma-informed, client-centered framework, you will provide supervision, mentorship, and care in a structured setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Build positive relationships with youth through consistent, respectful, and supportive interactions Implement daily routines, individual care plans, and behavior support strategies Promote the development of life skills, emotional regulation, and positive peer relationships Facilitate recreational, educational, and cultural programming Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and daily logs Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including social workers, educators, and health professionals Uphold safety protocols and support crisis intervention when needed

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience or education in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related field Strong interpersonal and de-escalation skills A nonjudgmental and empathetic approach to care Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Valid First Aid/CPR, clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector, and a valid driver's license (asset)

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 36 per week

12 hour shift Day shift Evening shift Morning shift Night shift Weekends as needed
