This is an independent contract position, offering the flexibility to set your schedule while benefiting from the support of a dedicated team. About the Role



In this role, you will provide evidence-based therapy to parents and children experiencing separation and divorce. You will help families manage co-parenting challenges, address parent-child adjustment issues, support emotional regulation, and navigate school-related stress. Additionally, you will facilitate group therapy sessions and workshops, offering families a safe space to connect, learn, and heal together.

This position offers flexibility, with hours ranging between 8-15 per week. We understand that as an independent contractor, you may already have a daytime job, which is why therapeutic sessions can be scheduled during evenings and weekends. This also aligns with the needs of our clients, many of whom work during the day or have children in school and prefer sessions outside of traditional business hours. As we establish our presence in Pickering, initial hours may be lighter while we build our client base.

Compensation



Individual and Family Therapy: $120 per hour Group Therapy and Workshops: $80 per hour

Key Responsibilities



Provide individual and family therapy to clients experiencing separation or divorce, in both high-conflict and non-conflict situations. Facilitate group therapy sessions and workshops, creating a space for parents, children, and teens to share experiences and gain skills. Help parents navigate sensitive conversations, such as introducing separation to their children with care and understanding. Offer specialized services such as parenting support, emotional regulation therapy, and reunification therapy Collaborate with family lawyers, mediators, educators, and other professionals to provide holistic support to families. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in compliance with professional standards. Contribute to the growth of Renew's Pickering location by providing excellent client care and fostering trust within the community.

Qualifications



A Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. Current registration and good standing with the appropriate regulatory college (e.g., OCSWSSW or CRPO). Experience working with families navigating separation and divorce, including children and teens. Experience supporting families in high-conflict relationships and addressing parent-child contact challenges post-separation. Experience working with individuals and families impacted by intimate partner violence, including safety planning and trauma-informed interventions. Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed therapy, and family systems models. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and client-centered approach. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team.
