What Will You Work On?

In this role, the candidate will be responsible for providing advice and support to the AVP Legal, Legal team of lawyers and law clerks, and internal business stakeholders at all levels. This includes providing practical and timely guidance, advice and counsel primarily on privacy, data governance, anti-spam (CASL), regulatory, advocacy, compliance and escalated Partner and Collector business matters. How Will You Create Impact?

As Chief Privacy Officer, you will provide oversight, strategic and day-to-day guidance and management support to LoyaltyOne and its AIR MILES Reward Program pertaining to privacy compliance, risk assessment/mitigation, data governance, public policy, laws and regulations, industry standards, anti-spam (CASL), cyber security, freedom of information and do-not-call/contact legislation.

You will be responsible for building/maintaining a comprehensive privacy program, that defines, develops and implements privacy-related policies, compliance frameworks, processes, risk assessments, training, and ongoing compliance monitoring for the business.

As a senior advisor within the Legal team, you will also be responsible for day-to-day guidance and implementation on the regulated and compliance portions of LoyaltyOne including travel industry regulation, banking, insurance, liquor, and healthcare matters.

You will monitor external environment to identify, counsel and respond to emerging public policy, regulatory trends and new developments, changes to legislation, and be a representative on issues specific to business interests.

You will collaborate with and provide advice to the AIR MILES\xc2\xae Reward Program and its internal stakeholder groups as it pertains to escalated Partner and Collector issues.

Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and provincial privacy, data security and information protection laws. You will serve as an information privacy resource to the organization.

Let\xe2\x80\x99s Talk About You:

Minimum of 7+ years of directly related work experience in Canadian privacy law, regulatory compliance and risk management, and privacy/data governance

Experience in retail, banking, technology and/or regulated industries

Demonstrated organization, written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills

Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, collaboration, and teamwork to achieve business goals

Practices sound judgement; a high level of integrity and trust.

Bilingual (English/French) is an asset (preferred)
