If you need critical care, our mission is to be there for you.Chief Information OfficerWhile technology and data have always been important, the strategic roadmap for the organization has highlighted their strategic role in the evolution of the organization, and therefore STARS is looking for our first Chief Information Officer to assist in the development and delivery of that mandate. This role will be a core member of the Executive team and will report directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer and have ongoing interactions with the STARS Board of Directors. The successful candidate will possess strong executive skills grounded in the core values of STARS (Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect and Spirit) and have the ability to translate technology into business value and risk. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the complexity of delivery in a combined healthcare, aviation and the not-for-profit business of STARS with demonstrated results in a complex, regulated environment.The CIO will work at the strategic, tactical and operational level as required to oversee all aspects of our company\'s information technology (IT) infrastructure, systems, and digital initiatives. This role is pivotal in aligning technology with our business objectives, driving efficiency, and ensuring our IT investments support our strategic goals. Building on the existing strategy for technology and data, the CIO will validate, develop, plan and implement solutions to meet the organization\xe2\x80\x99s business needs, deliver optimal return on investment, and ensure the IT foundation is robust and secure.Critical CompetenciesTrack Record of Delivery: Demonstrated leadership experience in leading technical teams through change with a strong results orientation. The ability to point to specific deliverables in your history that demonstrate the ability to get things done in an environment with multiple priorities through the effective use of teams and partners, both internal and external.Strong Executive Team Player: Ability to seek different perspectives to enable problem solving and team development. A strategist who can translate ambition into action and results. Leads with passion and purpose. Collaborates with other executives to identify opportunities for technology innovation and integration.Experienced IT Operator: Experience in a 7x24 operating environment with a complex application environment that is transitioning to a cloud based operating model. The ability to manage top to bottom for a technology organization including demonstrated cost management expertise.Demonstrated Information Management Leader: Strong knowledge of the landscape of cyber security and the ability to translate that into a strategy and governance framework that supports the emerging threat landscape and operating environment of the organization. Strength in the establishment of data strategy and governance practices that integrate privacy and cyber security practices while enabling business requirements. Ability to guide STARS on a path to leverage Artificial Intelligence.Partner Management Expertise- Ability to manage relationships with external vendors and partners and think strategically about how to best use resources and leverage our not-for-profit status to ensure high value delivery of IT and Data Management services and solutions.Compliance and Risk Management: A track record of operating in an environment where compliance with regulatory requirements related to IT operations, data protection, and privacy is critical. Identify and mitigating IT-related risks that could impact business continuity and playing a strong role on the executive team in driving business continuity planning.Outstanding Communication and Collaboration: Strong presentation skills, confidence in your analysis and open-minded approach to influence decision-making coupled with the ability to make complex topic understandable to non-technical leaders and team-members.Entrepreneurial Spirit: A self-starter with a curious and tenacious nature, actively seeking out change through critical questioning, innovation, mission focus and continuous improvement.A champion for continuous improvement: Constantly evaluating opportunities to enhance the capabilities of our technology team, and engaging leadership to understand next generation technology needs.Overall Core Responsibilities

  • Evolution and Delivery of IT / Digital Strategy that remains connected to business priorities.
  • Development of strong performance culture for program delivery and operations, grounded in metrics linked to business performance.
  • Lead the IT team to foster operational excellence and a mindset of outcome-based planning and execution across IT in the delivery of:
  • Cyber security
  • Data management / governance
  • Infrastructure
  • Applications
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Partner Management \xe2\x80\x93 ability to make strategic choices on what to recruit and train inside the organization and where to partner. Linked to strong performance management experience with smaller and larger vendors.
  • Evolve the governance of technology projects delivered by IT for the enterprise including streamlining processes for intake, monitoring and alignment.
  • Align with key stakeholders across the organization and collaborate on key strategic priorities to ensure effective project selection and execution.
  • Cultivate positive, trust-based working relationships across the business at all levels and model STARS core values
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a CIO or similar leadership role in a technology-driven organization ideally with 15+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business or a related field; relevant experience considered.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and digital transformation and demonstrated ability to develop and implement IT strategies that drive business outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
