Chief Financial Officer

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as the City's statutory Financial Officer under the BC Community Charter and provides strategic financial stewardship, ensuring the long-term sustainability of City services and infrastructure. This role leads the preparation and ongoing management of the City's five-year financial plan, oversees financial reporting and ensures compliance with legislation and best practices, develops long-term funding strategies, and collaborates across all departments to align financial strategies with Council's priorities and services.
The successful candidate will hold a degree in Business or Finance and a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, and have at least ten years of progressively responsible related experience, ideally gained in a local government setting. A skilled communicator and relationship-builder, you display the highest levels of professional ethics, confidentiality and integrity. You have excellent financial analysis, strategic planning, fiscal and project management skills, strong political acumen, and the ability to lead and collaborate with inter-disciplinary teams.
