The Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency (SAMA) develops, regulates, and delivers a current, effective and efficient property assessment system. We are an independent provincial agency with responsibility to the Province of Saskatchewan and municipal governments.
Position Summary:
With the upcoming retirement of our Chief Executive Officer in the Spring of 2026, the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency is seeking a leader to support the continued growth and success of SAMA and the provincial property assessment system.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and sound governance to advance SAMA's mandate. The CEO ensures that programs, policies, and services are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with the strategic objectives of the organization.
The CEO's key responsibilities include providing strategic leadership and direction to the Board of Directors and the senior executive team to inform decision-making, leading the development and execution of strategic and operations plans, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and policies, monitoring financial plans and operational goals, minimizing fiscal, operational and reputational risks, and representing the Agency with the public and stakeholders. The incumbent must have significant senior executive leadership experience, a demonstrated ability to lead within a governance framework, a proven track record in organizational transformation, stakeholder engagement, and policy implementation, and exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with external stakeholders such as the provincial and municipal governments, professional organizations, and industry affiliations.
The qualifications and experience for this position are typically acquired through the completion of post-secondary education in the areas of business or public administration or other related education along with 15 years of progressively more responsible experience including a minimum of five years' senior leadership experience in a related business environment of similar scope and complexity.
