The board is seeking a CEO who can transform strategic vision into reality, ensuring the company continues to thrive and expand its services in all areas of grocery, fuel, agriculture and home building. The board is looking for a strategic leader who can align with the organization\'s values and mission while driving substantial growth and expansion.Reporting to the Board of Directors, the next CEO will be a leader who excels in relationship and stakeholder engagement, and who can build a culture of accountability, strategy, and service. The CEO will focus on improving operational efficiencies and develop a clear strategy and vision for growth. It is this growth mindset that will be essential to capitalize on the significant opportunities ahead for Heritage Co-op.An appreciation for rural and small-town values, demonstrating humility, honesty, and a strong work ethic, will be important.The CEO will be located within Heritage Co-op\'s trading region.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a board-approved strategic direction for Heritage Co-op. Ensure integration across all operations and business lines, evaluate diversification opportunities, and align initiatives with the organization\'s vision, mission, and values.
  • Lead a senior leadership team through transformational change by effectively communicating the organization\'s mission, vision, values, and strategic direction. Inspire a diverse workforce to achieve strategic business plans.
  • Ensure the financial integrity and health of the organization. Oversee financial governance, risk management, and overall financial wellbeing.
  • Guide the organization and team through change management, diversification strategies, and potential service expansions.
  • Oversee safe, sustainable, and efficient operations. Lead innovation in business processes and services.
  • Drive targeted growth of sales and performance to enhance profitability and customer experience.
  • Maintain a strong, mutually beneficial relationship with Federated Co-operatives.
Ideal Experience and Background:
  • A degree in Business or a combination of education and experience.
  • Over 10 years of senior leadership experience with strong business acumen and strategic planning.
  • Ability to evaluate business processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective changes.
  • Experience reporting to or working on a Board of Directors.
  • Build relationships, and collaborate to deliver solutions that matter most, recognizing and valuing diverse perspectives to achieve shared objectives.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong understanding of financial aspects of the business, risk management and change leadership.
  • Drive technological advancements to modernize operations and enhance customer experiences.
  • Evaluate the current technological framework and implement necessary updates.
  • Understanding and aligning with the values of Heritage Co-op.
  • Commitment to community investment and fiscal responsibility.
  • Recognizing the importance of member engagement and satisfaction.
  • Experience in the agricultural sector is a significant bonus, reflecting the organization\'s growth focus in this area.
