CenerTech Canada Ltd. is seeking a Chemistry Lab Technician to join our
Long Lake Operations
team to support the Fort McMurray region. Reporting to the
Sr Manager LLK Operation,
youll be working with a team of dedicated employees across North America.
The
Lab Technician
primary function is to perform accurate laboratory analysis of water and hydrocarbon samples provided by the operating units and to communicate/report the results in a timely manner so as to best support the efficient, safe, and optimum operation parameters of said units. The role requires the person to have analytical knowledge, to be proficient in laboratory techniques and to work closely with the Production and Technical staff of the Business Units. Mastery of wet classical methods and instrumental techniques is essential. Direction in work execution is provided through Lab Team Lead

Some of the key responsibilities of the
Lab Technician
will be:
Perform house-keeping and maintain a safe work atmosphere;
Perform all analysis as required to support operations;
Prepare solutions and reagents following standard lab formulas and procedures;
Record data and results in various software applications in appropriate time frame;
Participate in developing and reviewing procedural standards;
Provide assistance training Process Operators in basic field tests;
Maintain laboratory cleanliness and safety standards;
Support Area Production and Discipline Teams in initiatives, projects and troubleshooting.
Who are we looking for?
Successful candidates will not only have a strong academic background, but also excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a team, a flexible attitude and the drive and desire to deliver results.
Bachelor Science - Chemistry, Biochemistry or Environmental Sciences OR Relevant Diploma from a Polytechnic Institute (SAIT/NAIT) plus a minimum 1 year work experience in a related field.
