We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our team in Canada. This role is vital in optimizing our manufacturing processes and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Responsibilities



Develop and optimize chemical processes for manufacturing.



Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Conduct research and testing to innovate new solutions. Maintain detailed documentation of processes and procedures. Troubleshoot technical issues related to chemical production. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the team.'

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.



Strong knowledge of chemical process design and safety standards. Experience with process simulation software is preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities



1. Process Design & Engineering Authority (The P.Eng Role)



P&ID Redlines & Control Logic:

Execute a comprehensive review of all facility P&IDs. Mark up redlines for operability, safety (HAZOP), and control logic integration. Collaborate directly with mechanical and automation teams to freeze designs for construction.

System Ownership:

Serve as the technical owner for high-pressure piping systems (>1000 psi) and filtration units (filter presses), ensuring compliance with

ASME B31.3

and local pressure vessel regulations (Nova Scotia Department of Labour).

2. Project Management & Execution (The PMP Role)



Scope & Schedule Management:

Own the engineering "Critical Path." Manage vendor lead times for long-lead items (pumps, vessels) and enforce schedule discipline with mechanical contractors.

Cost & Change Control:

Evaluate technical "nice-to-haves" against the project budget and timeline. Enforce a strict Change Order process to prevent scope creep during the build-out.

3. Commissioning, Scale-Up & Operations (The Core Mandate)



Pilot-to-Plant Translation:

Analyze data from the pilot/benchtop phase and identify "scale-up risks" (e.g., heat transfer limitations, mixing efficiency). Adjust the commercial design to mitigate these risks before steel is cut.

Commissioning Leadership:

Author and execute the "Hot Commissioning" plan. You will be physically present on the floor to direct the first introduction of feedstock, troubleshooting real-time yield losses during the ramp-up phase.

Operational Handover:

You are responsible for proving the facility's capacity. The project is not considered "complete" until the plant has demonstrated stable operation at nameplate capacity for 1000 continuous hours.

Essential Qualifications



Designation:

Registered (or eligible for immediate registration) as a

Professional Engineer (P.Eng)

in Nova Scotia.

Education:

Minimum B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.

Project Management:

PMP Certification

(Project Management Professional) or demonstrated experience managing capital projects >$5M.

Experience:

5+ years in industrial processing, chemical refining, or hydrometallurgy.

Specific Skills:

Deep familiarity with solid-liquid separation (filter presses), high-pressure piping, and pump sizing.
