Job Summary

The Takeout Chef is responsible for preparing, cooking, and assembling menu items for 9 Mile Takeout while maintaining high standards of food quality, speed, cleanliness, and consistency. This role focuses on efficient food production, proper prep, and supporting smooth kitchen operations during service.

Key Responsibilities

Cooking & Food Preparation

Prepare and cook menu items according to 9 Mile recipes and standards Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet company expectations Portion and package takeout orders accurately and efficiently Maintain consistent cooking times to support fast service during peak hours

Prep Duties

Complete daily prep tasks (chopping, marinating, portioning, sauces, etc.) Label, date, and store all prep items properly Ensure prep levels are maintained to avoid service delays Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) food rotation procedures

Kitchen Operations

Keep workstation clean, organized, and stocked at all times Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards Assist with receiving deliveries and proper storage of products Communicate with front-of-house staff regarding order flow and timing

Cleanliness & Safety

Maintain cleanliness of cooking stations, equipment, and prep areas Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times Dispose of waste properly and assist with end-of-shift cleaning duties

Requirements & Qualifications

Previous experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced takeout environment Strong time management and multitasking skills Knowledge of basic food safety and kitchen procedures Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Comfortable working in a hot kitchen environment

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
