We're opening a brand-new Thai restaurant in Leslieville and are looking for a talented, passionate Chef to help bring our vision to life. This is an exciting opportunity to shape our menu from the ground up, showcase authentic Thai flavours with a modern twist, and set the standard for an exceptional dining experience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Thai cuisine, proven leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes with consistency and creativity. As our Chef, you will oversee kitchen operations, develop innovative recipes, train and guide the team, and ensure every plate reflects our dedication to authenticity and excellence.
Duties
Plan and curate menus in collaboration with management
Supervise kitchen staff and manage daily operations to ensure efficient food service
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications
Ensure exceptional food presentation that aligns with the restaurant's standards and enhances guest experience
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and ensure compliance with all food-safety and health regulations
Train and mentor kitchen staff in preparation techniques, presentation standards, and best practices
Monitor inventory levels, control food costs, and coordinate supply orders
Foster a professional, collaborative work environment that supports creativity and consistency
Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events
Requirements
Proven culinary experience in a restaurant setting, with expertise in Thai cuisine preferred
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, train, and motivate staff
Excellent knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
Familiarity with food-safety regulations and strict adherence to health standards
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in both food quality and presentation
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
