Windigo Catering LP is seeking an experienced and responsible Chef to work in our fast-paced kitchen environment at Musselwhite Mine remote camp. This position works 14 days at the mine, followed by 14 days off. The Chef will report directly to the Kitchen Manager.Windigo Contracts LP. is a full-service catering company in Northern Ontario. We specialize in catering, camp and site management, housekeeping, laundry, janitorial and food services.

The overall role of the Chef is to plan and prepare a quality meal service based on the requirements of the day-to-day menu.

Responsibilities

Strictly follows safe food handling policies Always works safely and efficiently Plans menus and places food orders Prepare food and serve clients and staff in a personable and professional manner Lead in the training, developing, and mentoring of employees Ensure all foods are prepared using FOODSAFE and Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) methods and per safety guidelines The Chef on duty is to lead by example by displaying hard work ethic, organizational skills, and leadership to accomplish a top-notch meal each day as well as keep the rest of the kitchen functions running smoothly Conduct inventory weekly

Requirements

Red Seal or other certifications is an asset. Applicants must have a current Food Safe certificate. Remote camp cooking experience is an asset. Advanced First Aid is an asset. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary arts. Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Passion for cooking and creating memorable dining experiences for guests. Be able to lift 50lbs Drivers Licence required

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
