About The Blackstone
The Blackstone is an
upcoming community hub currently under construction
in Stittsville, Ontario. It will feature a
full-service restaurant, cafe, and convenience store
. We are building a space that brings people together through great food, thoughtful design, and a welcoming atmosphere.
We are currently seeking a
full-time Chef
to lead our kitchen operations and help shape the culinary identity of The Blackstone. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on, creative professional to take ownership of the food program from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a well-rounded, casual menu aligned with The Blackstone's concept
Oversee day-to-day food preparation and kitchen operations
Source ingredients and select appropriate food suppliers
Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and cost control
Hire, train, and manage kitchen staff, including scheduling and performance oversight
Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health regulations
Adjust the menu seasonally or based on customer feedback and operational needs
Qualifications
Culinary degree or demonstrated cooking experience in a chef or lead kitchen role
Proven experience with menu planning, supplier management, and kitchen leadership
Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the kitchen environment
Professional attitude and team-focused mindset
Compensation & Schedule
Hourly Rate:
$22.00-$26.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and certifications
Bonus eligibility based on performance and business growth
