The Sous Chef plays a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef and maintaining smooth kitchen operations. This role involves assisting the chef, resolving challenges, and ensuring tasks are efficiently completed in the kitchen. We value diversity and inclusion in our culinary team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Head Chef in planning and overseeing food preparation
Assist in managing inventory and supplies
Prepare and cook food to the highest standards
Supervise and coordinate culinary activities with an inclusive approach
Stock supply areas with all necessary items
Keep a well-organized and efficient kitchen
Maintain the cleanliness of the dining room, including dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning windows and mirrors (housekeeping will handle hardwood floors and washrooms)
Ensure the dining room is set up, including table settings and tablecloth preparation
Deliver plated meals from the kitchen to the dining room
Uphold safety and sanitation standards in the dining room
Skills and Specifications
Knowledge of acceptable food service and dining room standards
Commitment to excellent patient service
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Strong attention to detail, ensuring every guest's experience is exceptional
A commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity
Education and Qualification:
An excellent understanding of food service operations
* At least 3 years of experience in a culinary environment
