Job Description

Since 2005, Heron Rock Bistro has been serving fresh, local food for breakfast, lunch and dinner in James Bay. We are looking to hire an experienced cook/chef to join our team. The ideal candidate has a mature attitude, experience preparing a variety of food and leadership skills. This is a full time, permanent position that will require availability in the evenings, weekends and holidays.

Job Duties:

-Comfortable leading line during busy service
-Meeting and exceeding expectations in the following areas: food quality, bill times, menu knowledge and preparing features
-Efficient in food preparation
-Knowledge of butchery, soups, sauces, stocks, desserts and menu development
-Communicates effectively with front of house staff, management and junior employees
-Training/Supervisory Skills: willingness to develop and mentor juniors staff

-Understanding food costs and portion control
-Professionalism with kitchen staff, front of house and customers

This position will start at an hourly rate plus gratuities. Benefits available after 3 months.
