The Opportunity
APC is seeking a seasonal Chef De Partie to work with Banquets & Catering. The Chef De Partie will produce high-quality plates for guests and ensure that the kitchen is in good, clean, and hygienic condition. The Chef De Partie, reports directly to the Banquet Chef and will support in the management of all banquets throughout APC. This position will be part of the management team that is responsible for supervising line and prep cooks, while maintaining high quality service levels. The Chef De Partie will assist in the training and development of staff and always ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and safe food handling guidelines. This position will collaborate with the team of senior chef to determine necessary ingredients, ordering, inventory, and coordinate menu requests to ensure all events are executed to meet the clients' needs. The Chef De Partie will provide input in establishing priorities, organizing workflow, and delivering high quality culinary experience for APC guests. This is a seasonal part-time position (up to 40 hours/week) that requires a flexible work schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma and/or GED equivalent.
Enrolment in culinary arts or diploma in culinary arts preferred.
Food Handling Certification is an asset.
Minimum of 4 years' experience in a kitchen.
Demonstrate an understanding of food preparation and kitchen equipment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to follow recipes, direction, and safety procedures while working effectively with others.
Candidates must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position which includes standing for long periods and heavy lifting.
