Distillery Events, part of The Distillery Restaurants Corporation, creators of El Catrin Destileria, Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill, Archeo Trattoria, Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie and Madrina Bar y Tapas, is growing and we are looking for our next CHEF DE PARTIE.

We are actively seeking an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie who loves food, takes pride in their growing craft, and wants to contribute to a high-achieving, team-oriented events crew. Our events venues are located in the Distillery Historic District, one of Canada\'s most exciting art and shopping destinations and home to some of the top ranked restaurants and events venues in the City of Toronto. Whether it be an intimate cocktail party, a corporate event for 600, a product launch, or a glamorous wedding, each and every one of our events are unique as we cater to our guests\' specific needs.

What YOU will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining established standards for the department and assisting with new objectives
  • Supporting product, menu, and recipe development
  • Assisting with ordering and inventory
  • Ensuring the kitchen is run according to health and safety regulations - giving necessary safety, hygiene and sanitation training to other staff members when needed
  • Ensuring proper handling of equipment and utensils and training staff accordingly
  • Performing routine checks on cleaning duties to see they are completed
  • Co-ordinating ordering, mise-en-place, and delegation of production to see tasks are completed on time
  • Following and overseeing FIFO (first in, first out) method to maximize freshness and ensure food safety
  • Working closely with cooks to ensure daily operations run smoothly and all food quality standards are met.
  • Assisting with training
  • Lead team by example to exhibit, encourage and motivate DRC\xe2\x80\x99s Values & Beliefs
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required
NOTE: The Chef de Partie takes over all responsibilities in the absence of the Sous Chef.

What we would like YOU to bring to the kitchen:
  • Food Handlers certificate
  • 3 \xe2\x80\x93 5 years of catering experience
  • Supervision experience is an asset
  • Open to learning, coaching and career growth

  • An exceptional leader with relationship building and communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Humility coupled with a good sense of humour
