Job Description

CHB Group is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized

Payroll Administrator

to join our team. The successful candidate will support accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple companies while maintaining confidential employee records and ensuring compliance with payroll legislation and internal policies. With strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills, they will play a key role in supporting the integrity and efficiency of our accounting and HR functions.

Duties and Responsibilities



Payroll Processing & Administration



Coordinate with Operations to track and verify employee hours, timesheets, and job codes. Work closely with Human Resources to record and track vacation, sick time, leaves, and schedule changes. Process payroll accurately and ensure all deadlines are met. Enter new hires into the payroll system and update employee records for changes in pay, tax status, and deductions. Issue Records of Employment (ROEs) as required. Complete year-end payroll procedures, including T4 preparation and reconciliation. Document payroll procedures and update process manuals as needed.

Reconciliation & Compliance



Reconcile payroll and employee benefit deductions with monthly provider statements. Prepare and submit government remittances and statutory filings on time. Ensure payroll processing aligns with federal and provincial regulations, employment standards, and internal policies. Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential payroll files.

Reporting & Support



Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a professional and timely manner. Generate payroll reports for management review and billing analysis. Create transactions in the accounting software as directed. Assist with ad-hoc payroll and accounting projects as assigned.

Skills and Requirements



Minimum

3+ years of payroll experience

. Payroll certification (e.g., PCP)

preferred but not required

. Strong understanding of payroll legislation and basic labour standards. High attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving ability. Professional, discreet, and able to maintain strict confidentiality. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Proficiency with payroll systems, Microsoft Office 365 and HRIS platforms (ADP experience is an asset).

Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
