We are looking for a positive and caring individual to fill the position of:
Charter Bus Driver
Ideal for retirees, self-employed people with flexible schedules
Qualifications:
Ability to remain attentive when faced with distractions
Strong attention to detail
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain CZ License (we provide FREE license upgrade; Preference given to B License)
Meet the minimum age requirement to hold a bus driver's license (21 years of age)
Hold a valid (non-probationary) driver's license with a very good driving record
Display safe and defensive driving techniques
Ability to work independently
Ability to cross border points (Canada into US)
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Undergo & Pass a Ministry prescribed medical examination, criminal record search, vulnerable sector clearance, driver's abstract and other background checks
First Aid certificate is considered an asset
Responsibilities:
Safely drive passengers to and from their respective pick up locations and destinations
Follow the assigned time schedules and ensure the tour stays on schedule (knowledge of the assigned route and surrounding areas)
Read and interpret maps as required
Assist passengers with boarding/exiting the bus and loading/unloading luggage
Listen to and address passenger complaints
Rely on Trip Organizer to account for all passengers before leaving a location
Communicate clearly and interact with passengers, co-workers and the public in a courteous and professional manner
Follow company policies and procedures
Complete required paperwork, such as, trip and mileage logs
Adhere to and enforce bus safety rules and standards
Maintain thorough working knowledge of all rules of the road and comply with traffic regulations to operate the vehicle in a safe manner
Report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs
Report any injuries, collisions or property damage that occurs immediately
Perform daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle safety inspections
Perform all other duties as assigned
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment; Interacts with public, various ages; Hours of work require flexibility of weekends, holidays, nights (with the expectation of out of town overnight stays when operationally necessary); Ability to attend meetings; Sitting for extended periods of time; Manual Dexterity to operate a large motor vehicle; Exposure to all weather conditions, Repetitive work;
