JOB SUMMARY:
The Charge Nurse will be responsible for supporting medical team in daily operations and client oversight. They will ensure the provision of optimal client care, high professional standards, and overall positive workplace dynamics. In this role, you will also provide direct client care, support with treatment planning and medication management, and follow up care. The ideal candidate has experience in addiction medicine and is dedicated to supporting individuals on the path to recovery through a whole person, holistic approach.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support all nursing personnel with regards to their concerns/ideas around client care
Support in developing and implementing policies, standards and protocols for the nursing department
Support developmental goals and objectives in collaboration with the leadership team
Provide guidance and insight around client care to other departments
Manager and oversee monthly nursing schedule
Ensure programmatic compliance to CARF standards
Fill nursing shifts once per week and whenever there are vacancies in the schedule
Remain available for on-call shifts if necessary
Provide insight and guidance to resolve issues and deficiencies when needed
Attended management meetings with other members
Mentor and training staff; communicate with Manager around change management strategies and solutions
Advocate for the rights and needs of clients
Stay informed about the latest advancements in nursing, withdrawal management, and addiction treatment.
Ensure strict compliance with Provincial and College regulations, as well as maintaining the highest standards in nursing care.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING:
Current Registered Practical Nurse license
Specialized training or certification in addiction medicine
Experience working in a treatment centre or substance use related environment
Previous experience working in management
