We are seeking a dynamic
Channel Marketing Manager to drive growth and market share for our Retail Division using a combination of retail and brand marketing expertise. This exciting role will be responsible for providing weekly input to demand planning team, participating in the monthly VP alignment meeting and assists in creation of The Wine Shop overall volume and revenue forecast. We are looking for a teammate with:

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of marketing experience
  • Ideally have both retail and brand marketing experience
  • Need to be creative, detailed, and analytical thinker.
  • Need to be able to work under tight timelines.
  • Must constantly have a proactive, take-charge, action-oriented approach.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Need to learn internal marketing/sales database and Retail Business Intelligence program.
  • Ability to manage, with some supervision, own workload and priorities as it pertains to the business.
  • Some evening and weekend work as related to business functions.
  • Ability to travel within Ontario to understand our Retail Channel and our competitor's retail environment.
This teammate will be accountable for
  • Create promotional and advertising programs to provide maximum sales and effective market exposure of products to deliver against key performance objectives of the Retail Division. Works with creative agencies and in-house support to create programs including POS material, retailtainment, and media communications.
  • Analyze and draw insights through post games of campaign sales and results then providing opportunities to enhance future campaign effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage Retail marketing budget to support defined retail marketing programs.
  • Key participant as the Marketing voice in the S&OP planning meetings as part of APL's demand process. Ensures monthly rolling marketing forecast is current with assumptions.
  • Search for opportunities to support targeted marketing initiatives that will benefit retail locations based on identified opportunity including new store location, partnering with host, and driving incremental sales.
  • Maintain and update Retail division marketing grid. Ensure changes in LCBO merchandising are reflected in the Retail Channel merchandising grid.
  • Responsible for social media marketing communication and development of strategies in support of digital communication vehicles, in collaboration with digital marketing team.
  • Responsible for marketing communication and development of strategies in support of third party delivery partners.
  • Work with Retail Management group to ensure limited supply product is available in appropriate stores.
  • Develop and Manage Retail division owned brands to ensure sales forecasts are achieved and brand tactics support overall Retail Division strategies.
  • Working with APL Marketing individuals, help to develop and manage APL's bottled in market brands and future non-traditional wine opportunities.
  • Work with agencies, as required, to research consumer profile and/or programs for Retail Division and provide actionable insights.
