A typical day for the IT Change and Release Management Specialist
Direct and lead cross-functional IT teams in coordinating, testing, and implementing changes
Filter, prioritize and coordinate requests for change (RFC) on all production system and application change initiatives related to business processes and technologies
Prepare and manage the change advisory board (CAB) and emergency CAB process
Conduct post-implementation reviews (PIR), including investigation of failed RFCs, and ensure business areas complete follow-up activities
Provide support and resiliency to Release Management for all environment release activities
Collaborate closely with the Release Management lead to plan and execute release cycles
Own responsibility for release scheduling and coordination, ensuring alignment with change windows
Assist in managing release risk assessments and quality checks
Support deployment activities during major releases, including go-live readiness and post-release validation
Maintain release documentation and repository for build and deployment processes
What you bring
A diploma or undergraduate degree in information technology or a related field of study is desirable
3+ years of direct information technology experience in a medium or large organization
Expert knowledge of ITIL change management, release management, and incident management
Understanding of Agile methodology development concepts
Practical knowledge of IT infrastructure and operations
Functional understanding of systems development lifecycle
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong research and analytical capability
Excellent project management, time management, and organizational skills
Strong team orientation and collaboration skills
Hands-on experience with release planning and coordination
Understanding of build and deployment processes
Ability to manage dependencies between changes and releases
