. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative leader who is passionate about student success, lifelong learning, and strengthening academic pathways within a forward-thinking postsecondary institution.
Reporting to the Vice President Academic, this role is responsible for guiding a team of faculty and staff to deliver high-quality learning supports and programming that enhance student achievement and expand access to education across the community. The Chair will champion excellence in teaching and learning, support program development that meets learner and industry needs, and ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of all departments within their portfolio. As a member of the Academic Leadership Team at Cambrian, the incumbent will also support the College's Strategic Plan and ensure that our programs and services reflect the needs of our community and the diverse student body that we serve.
Duties and Responsibilities

Provide administrative and academic leadership for the Academic Success Centre, Pathways, Academic Upgrading, and Continuing Education team.
Develop and implement plans that support student retention, learner success, and flexible learning opportunities.
Foster a collaborative, student-centered culture that promotes innovation, accessibility, and quality service delivery.
Oversee staffing, budgeting, scheduling, workload assignments, and operational planning.
Support faculty and staff development, performance, and engagement.
Strengthen internal and external partnerships to enhance pathways, upgrading opportunities, and community-responsive continuing education programs.
Ensure compliance with college policies, academic quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Use data and feedback to evaluate effectiveness and guide continuous improvement.
Qualifications
------------------
A degree in Education, Adult Learning, Leadership, or a related field.
A minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience in an academic or administrative role.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage complex operations, and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Solid understanding and commitment to student success, teaching excellence, and quality education.
Strong communication, problem-solving, relationship-building, and project-management skills.
Experience with strategic planning, budgeting, and change management.
A commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and supporting diverse learner populations.
Additional Assets/Preferred
:
A Masters degree or equivalent in a related field.
Experience developing articulation agreements.
Experience in postsecondary education, or adult education at the postsecondary level or in training.
Experience in areas such as student success services, continuing education, academic upgrading, or pathways.
