MISTRAS Services is seeking CGSB Certified UT1 and UT2 Technicians willing to obtain IRATA Rope Access tickets to join us in our location in Saint John, NB. This is a full-time permanent position that will keep you busy and motivated, as well as provide you with a rare opportunity to take your career to the next level with company sponsored training and mentorship programs.
If you are not currently IRATA certified, we will provide company sponsored training (compensated course) through our Canadian in-house training facilities.
This is a QCCC position - benefits in accordance with QCCC active collective agreement (Atlantic Region) along with competitive wages starting at $39.99/h (rate negotiation open). Key Responsibilities:
Set up, maintain, and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment
Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection
Interpret, evaluate and document results
Follow techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection
Ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
Interpret ISO drawings
Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
Organize and report test results
Perform specialized inspections
Effectively communicate using verbal, presentation and listening skills
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Current certification with NRCAN, with a minimum of CGSB UT1
IRATA certification an asset, however training is provided
Technical background in NDT methods and procedures an asset
Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks
Knowledge of NDT equipment
Strong computer skills required; including the ability to operate computerized equipment
Strong intrapersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills
Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work with new technology
Physical Job Demand:
Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs
Ability to work at heights
