Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to lead our welding team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of various welding techniques and processes. This role is crucial in ensuring that all welding activities meet safety standards and quality requirements while optimizing productivity.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the welding team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. Train and mentor welders on various techniques, including MIG and TIG welding, ensuring skill development and compliance with best practices. Oversee the setup and operation of welding equipment, including plasma cutting machines, press brake machines, and hand tools. Interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate fabrication of components, including ductwork and assemblies. Conduct inspections of welded products to ensure they meet specifications using calipers and other measuring tools. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions for production efficiency. Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained. Assist in rigging operations as needed, ensuring safe handling of materials during the manufacturing process.

Experience

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or construction environment is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in welding processes including MIG, TIG, plasma cutting, and machining. Familiarity with operating forklifts and cranes safely in a manufacturing setting. Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documents related to welding projects. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to welding tasks. Experience with assembly processes and understanding of ductwork fabrication is a plus.
