We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care and support to individuals with various needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through direct support, patient observation, and assistance with daily living activities.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Monitor and document vital signs and changes in residents' conditions.
Assist residents with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
Prepare meals according to dietary guidelines and individual preferences.
Implement care plans developed by healthcare professionals and assist in medication administration as required.
Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their emotional well-being.
Support individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs through direct support techniques.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality of resident information.
Requirements
Previous experience in home health care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is preferred.
Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
Experience in patient monitoring, memory care, dementia care, or hospice care is a plus.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist residents with physical mobility challenges.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Familiarity with caregiving principles, social work practices, and the development of care plans is beneficial.
