Hamilton Construction is an earthmoving company with over 79 years in business. We are a young dynamic team looking for the right person to join the company. Our goal is to find a highly organized and attentive individual to oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project invoicing. This can be a fast pace environment at times, but we also recognize the need for a healthy work/life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
Process accounts receivable and accounts payable, including EFT and cheque payments Prepare and file GST/HST, PST, and payroll remittances with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Calculate and process payroll, including source deductions (CPP, EI, and Income Tax) Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting Processing weekly progress certificates from field operations and prepare invoices monthly Oversee daily office operations, ensuring a smooth workflow and efficient processes
Requirements:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role / office administration Proficiency with accounting software Experience filing GST/HST, payroll taxes, and other Canadian government remittances Good understanding of payroll legislation in Canada, including minimum wage, statutory holiday pay, vacation pay, etc. Excellent organizational and time-management skills Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Proofreading skills to ensure high-quality documentation
