Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance
You’ll contribute to the success of the preventative maintenance program. You’ll test and calibrate equipment throughout the plant. You’ll ensure equipment is functioning at optimal levels, and refine the work order program to make it even stronger. You’ll collaborate with the maintenance team.
Machinery and Equipment Repairs
Break downs will happen. You’ll provide leadership and problem solving to minimize downtime, and prevent future equipment failures. Safety is of the utmost importance, and you’ll carefully consider potential hazards when equipment breaks down. You’ll identify electrical failures, and assist the mechanical team in failure diagnostics. You’ll repair damaged machinery and equipment to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Equipment Additions and Removal
We pride ourselves on continuous improvement. To that point, you’ll collaborate with management, supervisors and contractors, providing recommendations for the successful implementation of new equipment. You’ll ensure the preventative maintenance program is in place, and that the old equipment is safely removed and properly stored.
Operational Support
You’ll provide operational support when needed. Our customers are our top priority, and everyone pitches in to deliver for them.
Requirements
Red Seal electrician (FSR Class B) would be an asset
Strong familiarity with programmable logic controllers’ operation and programming
Proficient in motor controls, circuit design and troubleshooting
5+ years of relevant experience
Self-motivated – will take the initiative
Able to work autonomously
Team minded – strong desire to help fellow team members and employees be successful
Respectful and hard working
High level of proficiency with hand tools, multimeters, megohmmeters and various calibration instruments
Able to read drawings
Can update existing drawings with changes
Safety-oriented
