Adventure House Early Learning is seeking a self-driven, passionate

Early Childhood Educator

with a

5-Year Certificate

(Special Needs and/or Infant Toddler an asset) to join our small, inclusive childcare centre for children 2-6 years old.

We're looking for an educator who is warm, nurturing, and creative, someone who naturally connects with children, collaborates with colleagues, and brings fresh, engaging ideas that inspire learning. The ideal candidate is reliable, consistent, and confident leading small groups while maintaining active supervision and a preventative guidance approach.

What We're Looking For

Valid ECE Certification in BC (5-Year) - IT/SNE an asset Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident Fluent in English (spoken and written) Current First Aid & CPR certification Clear Criminal Record Check Experience in early childhood education with confidence managing small groups Strong guidance and redirection skills Warm, reliable, and collaborative team player Comfortable working with minimal supervision, including opening or closing shifts Demonstrates strong attendance, punctuality, and consistency
Position Overview

You'll work as part of a team of two educators caring for a maximum of 8 children (ages 2-6). This is a wonderful opportunity for an educator who values connection, creativity, and meaningful engagement.

Key Details:

Start Date: Immediate (or TBD) Schedule: Monday-Friday, between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (includes opening and/or closing) Compensation: $25.00-$26.00/hour (including $6/hr Wage Enhancement) This is a casual position to start, as we assess our long-term staffing plan.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate curriculum and activities Lead circle time, creative play, and learning experiences Prepare and plate snacks and lunches; cook simple meals twice weekly Support daily routines such as meals, toileting, outdoor play, and rest Use positive guidance and model emotional regulation Maintain open, professional communication with families and colleagues Observe, document, and extend children's learning experiences Follow licensing standards and health/safety protocols Complete opening and closing procedures, including setup and end-of-day cleanup
