CDP/Sous Chef Job Opportunity

The Imperial, Is a newly opened truly unique restaurant and events space. Nestled at the intersection of St.Clair West and Avenue Road amidst the Forest Hill neighbourhood, The Imperial Toronto is situated within the historic confines of a decommissioned gothic-style church dating back to 1912. Now emerging as the city's newest premier event venue and restaurant.

We are looking to grow our team, by adding individuals with fine dining culinary experience looking for a place to demonstrate their passion and drive for culinary excellence. We are looking for full-time team members with open availability and the desire to be amongst like-minded hardworking professionals. Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including cooking stations and storage spaces. Ensure all food safety guidelines are followed, including proper food handling and sanitation practices. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to management. Help maintain equipment by performing basic cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed. Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.

Skills

Proven experience in the food service industry, in a fine dining restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen. Familiarity with various cooking techniques and equipment used in meal preparation. A passion for cooking and creating high-quality dishes that delight customers. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Compensation will be discussed in person and is dependent on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
