Position Summary



We're seeking a

CATV Maintenance Technician

with field experience in coaxial cable and broadband infrastructure. This role involves identifying and repairing faults in coax lines, performing splices, conducting continuity testing, HMOD/Node work, MDU build and responding to emergency or scheduled maintenance requests.

The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who works well independently or on a crew, and is physically capable of working in outdoor conditions year-round.

Key Responsibilities



Use

Time Domain Reflectometers (TDR)

and cable locators to detect and diagnose faults in coaxial cable lines Splice and repair(dig and repair) a variety of coax cables, and verify integrity with continuity tests Climb ladders, operate hand & power tools, and manually dig as needed with shovels Run temporary service lines during outages or emergencies with ladders or using a bucket truck Perform pedestal replacements, cabinet and power supply installation Follow safety procedures and technical documentation accurately

Required Qualifications



High school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of experience in telecom maintenance or coaxial cable work Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools (TDR, locators, various meters etc.) Skilled in coaxial splicing and troubleshooting Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks outdoors Strong understanding of CATV systems and broadband infrastructure On-call availability a must Valid

G-Class driver's license

with a clean driving record

Reliable transportation

to and from the Kitchener office

Preferred Assets (Not Required)



Experience in CATV, telecom, or utility infrastructure AZ license Knowledge of

safety standards

around live lines and utility locates HMOD Build/Sweep Experience Node Installation/Setup Certifications:
