Job Description



Job Summary A Banquet Server provides food and beverage service for events in ways of set up, teamwork, communication and food service while maintaining Uptown Chefs and CKHCC standards of excellence. Pushing, pulling, lifting, moving etc. of equipment is a key component of this job. Job Specific Knowledge Required

  • Set up tables, chairs, linens, stations etc. for events on site or off-site
  • Positive professional appearance, mannerisms and attitude
  • Has a sense of urgency when on the service floor and in the back of house
  • Seeks advice and help when needed
  • Completes all other tasks assigned by Banquet Supervisors and Managers
  • Keeps and maintains an open communication between all coworkers before, during, and after an event
  • Keeps up to date with changes in the company\xe2\x80\x99s policies, procedures and rules (via Facebook Page, bulletin boards in the servery)
  • Service of plated meals, watching buffets, refilling of water jugs and stations while tending to miscellaneous needs requested by guests and/or management
  • Should be able to provide some information about the meals they are serving
  • Responsible for clearing dishes and preparing them for dishwashers. Once guests have left for the evening the server will clear the table of all remaining items and organize them in their respective storage areas
  • Loading and unloading of trucks
  • Putting equipment back into its proper location when not being used
  • Ability to drive a 1 tonne catering truck is strongly encouraged
  • Keep a clean and well maintained uniform- Black dress pants, black socks, black shoes, black button up(provided for you) , hair up, good hygiene

  • Good physical condition as shifts involve long hours on your feet and moving heavy equipment
  • On time and organized
Qualifications
  • Possess some food and beverage training
  • Organizational skills and multitasking skills
  • Serving it Right Certification required
  • Previous experience is an asset but not required
  • Read, Speak and write English
  • Class 5 Drivers license is encouraged
