Catering & Premium Service Manager

Job Description




The Catering Services Manager is a leadership position which leads all aspects of catering solutions and special events at the location. This position will lead the Catering team to complete events or catering delivery requests in line with customer expectations and service standards.

Reporting to the Resident District Manager the Catering Manager will be responsible overseeing the daily activities of the Catering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the flawless execution of events by managing the event process from start to finish, including organizing client meetings, preparing event details, monitoring event budgets, invoicing and procuring external resources as required. The events are campus based for faculty meetings, events, and open houses.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee catering functions and special events for internal and external clients and groups
  • Meet with clients to determine catering requirements, floor plans, rentals, staffing for events
  • Responsible for customer bookings, creating contracts; consulting with Executive Chef for menus
  • Responsible for final approval of catering contracts pre-event
  • Ensure job instructions are clearly understood so tasks are completed to the client\'s satisfaction
  • Ensure all staff provide quality, courteous service to all customers
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • Manage catering rentals, purchases, inventory, and invoicing - ensure timely return of rentals
  • Responsible for coordinating non-food supplies for each event i.e., linens, staff, equipment
  • Accountable for Catering Budget; participate in Operational Reviews for Catering Department
  • Ensure third party staff meet Aramark standards and are well informed of service expectations
  • Responsible for prospect outreach and sales to enhance and grow the catering business
  • Establish and maintain positive clientele rapport; resolve any customer concerns, complaints
  • Conduct weekly Team meetings; oversee staff scheduling, training, and staff management
  • Ensure all staff adhere to our Health and Safety Policy and Aramark Policies and Procedures
  • Uphold Classic Fare Catering standards through training and corporate program updates

Qualifications
  • 2-4 years upscale Catering management experience for up to 200 guests
  • Completion of Hospitality or Food and Beverage program is preferred
  • Strong leadership ability, organizational skills, multi-tasking, and staff management is required
  • Exceptional customer service, people skills and attention to detail are necessary
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office; CaterTrax catering management software is an asset
  • Outgoing, driven, with the ability to recognize sales opportunities through referrals, outreach
  • Must obtain Smart Serve Certification
  • Must possess a valid Ontario driver\'s license and own reliable vehicle
