In this role you will enable Cameco's business units to achieve their objectives, create value, and contribute to long-term business success. You will focus on cost optimization, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement, while leading and developing your team. This role requires procurement professionals with influence, thought leadership, business acumen and an entrepreneurial approach to their work.   • Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies that align business unit objectives and procurement strategy within assigned spend categories
  • Identify value delivery opportunities including cost savings, cost avoidance, process improvements and efficiency across supply chain activities
  • Lead collaborative cross-functional teams to implement projects and initiatives that support category strategies
  • Implement supplier relationship management framework for strategic suppliers to monitor performance and identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on category trends and risks
  • Develop proactive risk mitigation strategies for supply disruptions, market volatility and geopolitical events
  • Provide reporting on category performance, value creation, project updates, and supplier metrics
  • Manage a small team of sr. specialists that are responsible for strategic sourcing, contracting and vendor performance activities within assigned categories
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree within a related field (business/commerce or engineering)
  • 10+ years of procurement and/or supply chain management experience, including experience in category management
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
  • Intermittent travel to northern Saskatchewan and Ontario sites is required
Recommended:
  • Experience in mining or manufacturing industries preferred
