The Associate Category Manager, Print Programs is responsible for optimizing select value, curatorial and seasonal programs and supporting the Print team in delivering the financial goals across these programs while driving an exceptional customer experience. They will drive performance by leading, arranging and communicating throughout all program components, providing rigorous and insightful research/analysis, and exceptional execution of departmental plans.KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS
  • Print Revenue, Net Margin, Sales units (vertical)
  • Productivity of the inventory investments (Returns, NMROI and Turns)
  • Customer Metrics (TBD)
  • Performance on category strategies
  • Category strategies market share
  • ROI on Capital Investment projects, where appropriate
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESFunctional
  • Work collaboratively across the print team to maintain and validate title curation appropriate to each program.
  • Collaborate with online and editorial teams to integrate decision-support materials and opportunities
  • Collaborate with Retail to evaluate program set-up in stores and the delivery of effective communication for retail
  • Collaborate with marketing to share materials and build program awareness
  • Contribute to list development for curation in stores, online and on book hub
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs, whether value proposal, seasonal need, or gifting occasion
  • Support work on key programs, including:
  • Bestsellers List (BSL)
  • Online Deal of the Week
  • Two (2) for $20 (Mass Market)
  • Mass Promotions (including, but not limited to, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Boxing Week)
  • Promotions for Key Dates/ Weeks (Ie/ Mother\xe2\x80\x99s Day, Father\xe2\x80\x99s Day, etc)
  • Heather\xe2\x80\x99s Pick, Staff Pick of the Month (Fiction and Non-Fiction)
  • Key Seasonal Programs (Ie/ Awards, Canada Reads, Best of the Year, etc)
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high-tech and high-touch solutions for Indigo\xe2\x80\x99s customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute Indigo\xe2\x80\x99s vision and strategy.

QualificationsWork Experience / Education / Certifications
  • University degree in business or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in buying and category management of specialty, book retail or publishing industry
