Job Description


Position: Category Analyst
Location: Mississauga

As part of the team, my client is looking for someone to support the implementation of pricing strategies to increase the business\' competitiveness and profitability while meeting the customers\' needs and expectations.

As Category Analyst, you will:
- Analyze data from various sources to gain internal, competitors\' and market insights on pricing and assortment, and to share insights with the Category Management team
- Support the team in translating these insights into a Pricing Strategy that will increase revenue sales and profitability for the region
- Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, i.e., regional Category Management, Purchasing, Information Technology, Business Process, and vendor partners, to discuss pricing and assortment analytics and effectively respond to changing market needs and trends including the development of Pricing Database and Dashboard
- Monitor the development of pricing analysis methods at respective countries\' including impact to regulations on duties and taxes as well as additional market insights, and industry trends
- Support projects and tenders related to pricing and assortment analytics, competitive analysis and reporting as well as preparation of various reports required by the Management to ease decision-making process
- Provide recommendation and insights through reporting and presentations to buyers
- Prepare analysis insights on consumers industry trends and its\' vision
- Analyze category dynamics, performance, and trends to identify future growth opportunities of the segment and develop retailer-specific recommendations
- Utilize consumers, shoppers and industry insights from multiple platforms and information sources to create compelling business reviews
- Analyze range and assortment of the planogram\'s creation based of product performance, in-store leadership principles, and category best practices
- Manage multiple projects with differing timelines and stakeholders
- Optimize and develop reporting tools to improve data quality

About you:

- 2 to 5 years of previous experience within a similar role within a similar environment
- Critical thinker and be able to analyze large amounts of data to support category recommendations to the buying team
- Willingness to travel to customer sites
- Advance Excel skills are essential for the role
- Retail Link experience a plus for the role
- Experience with JDA Space Planning or Spaceman is highly desirable
