About the Role:
As a
casual receptionist
, you'll step in to cover shifts during staff absences such as vacations, sick days, or busy periods. You'll play a vital role in maintaining smooth office operations and delivering exceptional first impressions to clients, visitors, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome clients, visitors, and staff in a professional and friendly manner
Direct guests appropriately and notify staff of arrivals
Answer, screen, and route phone calls accurately
Take and deliver messages promptly
Maintain a tidy reception area and kitchen space
Manage logbooks, paperwork, spreadsheets, and other office procedures
Assist the Office Manager with administrative tasks
Support the overall team and contribute to day-to-day operations
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience in a receptionist or front desk role
Proficiency with computer systems and office software (e.g., Google Workspace, spreadsheets, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management abilities
Calm and professional demeanor under pressure
Dependable, punctual, and adaptable with a team-oriented mindset
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education is an asset
