Job Description

This is a casual position without guaranteed hours. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. The hourly wage is $24.09, plus 4% vacation, plus 3% in lieu of benefits.

Summary:

Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor and the Service Delivery Manager, the Casual Support Worker provides support to all units of YES Employment Services. Casual employees will not hold a caseload but will support the Employment Coordinator (EC), Workforce Empowerment Coach (WEC), Employer Relations Coordinator (ERC) units, Resource Area and all other units of YES Employment Services as directed. The incumbent must have the ability to work in a dynamic programming / service delivery environment.

MAJOR TASKS WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:



General duties for all units may include:



Maintain timely follow-up calls and checkpoints according to program requirements. Assist with picking up claims from employers, review and submit for reimbursement. Maintain awareness of job market and labour market information and trends. Entering and updating client/employer information into case management system(s). Covering staff breaks and lunches. Researching job leads, training and education options, and referrals, for specific clients. Checking in with active clients. Assist with purchase and pickup of client support items. Assist in maintaining regular and ongoing positive contact with clients (1/3/6/12 months)

EC casual support duties:



Gathering job leads and labour market information for Better Jobs Ontario Applications Assist with completion of placement documentation.

WEC casual support duties:



Assist in setup for in-person and virtual workshops. Assist in tracking and reporting on client progress. Assists with revision and organization of workshop materials Assist with setup and update of VR equipment.

ERC casual support duties:



Assist in completing employer documentation. Assist with reaching out to employers regarding events or promoting programs. Assist in gathering information from employers and generating leads for internal job bank. Provides relevant employer information to the client-focused YES staff.

Resource Area duties:



Provide triage services in the Resource and Information area to determine client needs. Welcome clients and direct them appropriately according to their purpose and needs. Register all clients and provide Resource Area orientation and tour as needed. Ensure Resource Area is functioning efficiently. Maintain client facing area and ensure it is clean, sanitized and organized.

Marketing and Programming:



Markets YES programs and services to employers and clients Represents YES when assisting at external events. Provides information regarding other programs and services when appropriate. Assist with social media posts and content.

Documentation:



Maintains detailed and accurate case notes for client -related activities (within 24 hours) Ensure privacy and confidentiality of all client information. Ensure that client consent and disclosure of information documentation is on file. Documentation of client files according to program and agency standards and processes. Assist with updating internal processes as required. Shredding, organizing, scanning documents, doing inventory, helping to maintain a clean working environment.

Other duties as assigned by Leadership Team.



QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:



Post-secondary education, either completed or in-progress, in a Social Service or Human Relations field. A professional and courteous approach to service with a high level of respect for the diversity of the people served. Exceptional customer service skills and ability to uphold the organization's core values. High ethics and confidentiality standards with proven experience maintaining sensitive information and exhibiting tact, diplomacy, and good judgment. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Strong detail orientation, time management, and ability to multi-task to meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Outlook 365 applications, including MS Teams and SharePoint. Must possess aptitude and willingness to learn and work with new online systems and technologies. Strong work ethic with a positive and client -centered approach to work. Valid drivers' licence and use of vehicle considered an asset.
