Recovery is a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and strive to reach their full potential. Usually, Peer Support staff come alongside the residents in their recovery journey being a role model to healthy living and recovery, demonstrating a knowledge of addiction and mental health and the recovery process with the ability to de-escalate potential volatile situations. Overnight staff do not engage with residents to the same degree, but must be prepared to deal with any crisis that may arise; the main concern is the safety and security of the residents.
All employees are required to sign a code of conduct and a confidentiality agreement and must be discreet and discerning when working with residents. A high moral standard of work ethics will be required at all times.
