We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities. This role involves working closely with clients to promote their independence and enhance their quality of life through various supportive services. This is in our SILP program and includes mentoring and supporting clients in thier homes and out in the community.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
Help clients with mobility and transportation needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs, including those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, ensuring all areas are tidy and organized.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care is provided.
Document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status accurately.
Requirements
Previous experience in senior care, hospice care, assisted living, or working with persons with disabilities is preferred.
Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the clients.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
Certification in CPR/First Aid is desirable but not mandatory at the time of hire.
