The suitable person must be positive, service oriented, and able to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to attend to work at a moments\' notice is important. The hours of work can vary from as little as a few hours to much more dependent on operational needs.Hourly rate is $28.48.Job SummaryReporting to the Waste Reduction Supervisor, the Waste Reduction Driver handles, collects, records and transports non-hazardous campus waste, recycled and resource recovered materials, operates a vehicle to transport materials, operates equipment related to waste reduction, assists with the maintenance of the vehicle and performs general maintenance in the waste Transfer Station and waste enclosures and at all waste collection locations on campus.Job RequirementsSkills:

  • Drive a collection vehicle
  • Communicate well in the verbal and written forms of english
Specialized Knowledge/Education:
  • Good driving record
  • Valid class 5 driving licence
Experience:
  • Collecting, picking up and transporting non-hazardous waste, recycling and resource recovered materials on pre-determined collection routes based on established schedules following specific instructions provided by a Supervisor and I or the University
  • Driving a vehicle
  • Working in an outdoor environment in variable weather conditions
  • Willingness to work any recognized shift including week-ends
