Position Summary





We are currently seeking a compassionate, reliable Bus Driver to safely transport residents to scheduled outings, appointments, and community events. This role plays a key part in supporting residents' independence, comfort, and quality of life while assisting with the success of our recreational programs.


Key Outcomes




Provide safe, secure, and dependable transportation for residents Foster comfort, trust, and reliability within the community Enhance residents' overall quality of life Support recreational programs and special events Maintain vehicles according to safety and regulatory standards

Key Responsibilities




Safely transport residents using a wheelchair-accessible bus Perform daily vehicle inspections, record mileage, and report maintenance issues promptly Ensure vehicles meet commercial inspection and safety requirements Assist in organizing and supporting recreation programs and community events Monitor resident well-being during outings and report concerns to the Recreation & Volunteer Coordinator Maintain accurate departmental records Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members Follow emergency response procedures and all health and safety regulations Complete mandatory training and adhere to corporate policies Perform other related duties as required

Strong interpersonal and customer-focused communication skills Patient, understanding, and compassionate when supporting residents Culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse backgrounds Ability to manage time effectively and work collaboratively Proficient in operating wheelchair-accessible vehicles Physically capable of performing job duties

Physical Requirements




Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Ability to push, pull, and operate wheelchair equipment

Qualifications




Valid Class 4 Driver's License with a 5-year clean Driver's Abstract Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification (required) Current Police Clearance (within 6 months) Current Influenza Vaccination record (within 1 year) High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience Basic computer proficiency Strong written and verbal communication skills
