Duties

Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently to process customer transactions. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product selections. Handle cash transactions with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and enhance sales. Assist in merchandising efforts by organizing displays and maintaining product presentation standards. Perform stocking duties to ensure shelves are well-stocked and organized. Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers on features and benefits. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while adhering to store policies and procedures. Supervise junior staff as needed, providing guidance on best practices in customer service and sales techniques. Exhibit strong phone etiquette when addressing customer inquiries via phone.

Qualifications

Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred. Familiarity with basic math concepts and retail math principles for accurate transaction processing. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as this can enhance customer interactions. Experience with merchandising techniques is a plus, along with knowledge of grocery store operations. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the store schedule. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in a collaborative environment.
