Responsibilities



Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions swiftly and securely. Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Assist customers with product inquiries, including product demos when applicable, to help them make informed purchasing decisions. Upsell related products and suggest additional items to increase sales opportunities while maintaining a customer-first approach. Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are attractive and accessible. Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory management to keep the store well-supplied. Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or providing assistance over the phone. Support team members by supervising or mentoring new staff when needed, fostering a collaborative work environment. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and store policies at all times.

Requirements



Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus. Proficiency in using POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling and transaction balancing. Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customers effectively. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service with a friendly, professional demeanor. Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not mandatory. Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, stocking shelves, and moving merchandise as needed. Knowledge of merchandising techniques and retail math principles to support sales goals. Familiarity with upselling strategies to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining customer satisfaction.
