Assign sales workers to duties Hire and train or arrange for training of staff Order merchandise Establish work schedules Sell merchandise Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters Organize and maintain inventory Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages Operate cash register Suggestive selling Process money, cheques and credit/debit card payments Scan items Receive payment for goods or services Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales Stock shelves and clean counter area Greet customers Provide customer service Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco productsComputer and technology knowledge
