SCOPE OF WORKYour scope of work as a CASHIER at The Creek includes, but is not limited to the list below. The Creek reserves the right to alter, adjust, add to, or otherwise modify these duties as seen fit without notice. A cashier is to provide excellent customer service and an enjoyable experience for our patrons. In this job, you primarily take orders from customers, paying attention to any special requests, assisting guests in a timely fashion, and possess the ability of handling cash transactions responsibly and accurately You will also be required to complete some food handling/food prep tasks in addition to excellent coffee/barista services and pouring, serving, preparing, and selling alcoholic beverages - a valid and current Smart Serve certification is required (or the willingness and ability to acquire). SERVER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting with shelf-stocking, clean up, and displays
Keeping the register area neat and stocked with essential supplies
Counting money in cash drawers at the beginning of a shift
Handling rain checks, exchanges, and refunds
Rectifying any price discrepancies and resolving complaints from clients
Bagging, boxing, or gift wrapping merchandise for clients
Issuing the correct change due to the client
Using electronic scanners to identify the price of the merchandise
Greet customers and answer any questions they have about the menu
Have EXCELLENT knowledge of the menu
Explain daily specials and take food and drink orders
Put orders in and deliver food and drinks to customers
Process checks and payments
Help clean the table for the next customer
Complete side work as needed
RESTAURANT SERVER REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Smart Serve certification
High school diploma
Experience in bartending, hospitality, or as a host/hostess, food server, or barista
Customer service, multitasking, and interpersonal skills
Ability to memorize and recall menu items
Physical stamina to work on your feet throughout your shift
Being detail-oriented with basic mathematical skills
Ability to focus on the satisfaction of clients
Time management and excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to remain helpful throughout the work shift and develop a courteous approach to resolving complaints
Ability to lift heavy items, walk, stand, and work with other team members to provide excellent service in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service skills and a high level of energy
Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly and accurately
