ACCOUNTABILITIES:Provide support to participants
Be fully versed in current Policies and Procedures which apply in Emergency, Transitional, and CRF Programs.
Be aware of participants and their activities
Liaise with Parole Officers. Brief Parole Officers when appropriate
Assist participants with Case Plans, and paper files.
Manage client caseloads which is made up of men who are currently on parole in one form or another
Complete parole client intakes and orientation to centre
Carry out casework duties, including analysis of data and formulation of treatment plans
Conduct individual counselling sessions with clients
Prepare termination summaries for each parole client
Complete statistical recording as required
Make checks on out of building parole clients as necessary
Present to the Client Review Board at meetings, when required, a written or oral report on the conduct recovery plan and progress of each assigned parole client
Supervise daily activities such as room checks, distribution of parolee allowance, distributions of equipment, etc.
<>CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
Required to work in co-operation with other staff members in job related areas, and treat all residents, parole officers, and members of the public with dignity and confidentiality.
Governance Boards and Councils: None.
Internal: Residential Services Supervisor (ACSO), clients, Residential Case Workers, other staff.
External: Community Partners, Parole Officers, etc.
<>MANAGERIAL/TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY:
Reports directly to Residential Services Supervisor (ACSO).
No formal managerial responsibility. May show others how to perform certain duties and procedures.
<>FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT:
Minor material responsibilities.
Uses or maintains organization assets in accordance with established guidelines.
May be responsible for handing out petty cash to clients.
WORKING CONDITIONS:Working in a Community Residential Facility (CRF).
Shifts required for daytime 24/7 facility.
May be subject to verbal abuse, discrimination, etc.
Little to no travel requirement
The incumbent will work under the following disagreeable conditions:
+ Dealing with angry abusive people
+ Verbal abuse
+ Noise
+ Will need to read and assess offenders' criminal histories. Potential for triggering information.
The incumbent may be exposed to the risk of moderate injury or illness due to:
+ Physical attack by others (i.e., being attacked by a resident)

Minimum Education Level Attained:
The successful job applicant will have completed high school, plus specialized courses of up to six months
Note: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable
Special Licenses, Diplomas, Certifications or Requirements:
The successful applicant will hold/have:
Diploma or Degree in related social services field
Criminal Police Record Check with vulnerable persons check
Adult and Child abuse registry check
Non-violent crisis intervention training
Current Certification in First Aid/CPR (Ministry Unit has a trainer on site to teach new employees)
Minimum Prior Related Experience:
One year but less than three years of prior related experience, including frontline casework experience in a social service environment.
PREFERRED SKILLS/capabilities:More than three months but less than one year of prior related experience, including experience with frontline work in a social services setting
French and/or Arabic language would be considered an asset

Concentration Required:
The performance of the job requires continuously monitoring the environment, monitoring security cameras and attentiveness when interacting with clients and recording information. The performance of the job requires attentive listening and observation of body language, continuously monitoring the environment, multitasking, and reading.

Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $21.81 to $21.81 with a maximum of $21.81.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
