Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and empathetic
Case Processing Agent
to join our Refugee Claims team. In this pivotal role, you will manage end-to-end case workflows, ensuring clients receive seamless support through complex legal processes while adhering to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Case Preparation & Submission:
Review and process Refugee Claim applications, ensuring compliance with IRB (Immigration and Refugee Board) and IRCC guidelines.
Client Guidance:
Act as a primary point of contact for clients, explaining procedures, assisting with documentation (e.g., Basis of Claim forms, evidence collection), and addressing inquiries.
Record Keeping:
Maintain meticulous case files, tracking deadlines, correspondence, and updates in line with confidentiality protocols.
Legal Collaboration:
Liaise with RCIC-IRBs and lawyers to prepare cases for hearings, appeals, or judicial reviews.
Regulatory Awareness:
Monitor updates to refugee policies, procedures, and country conditions to ensure applications reflect current legal requirements.
Performance Metrics:
Meet firm targets for case throughput without compromising accuracy or client care.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Degree or diploma in Law, Immigration Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field (preferred).
Experience:
1+ year in immigration case processing, particularly Refugee Claims/Appeals (strongly preferred).
Familiarity with IRB processes, UNHCR guidelines, or humanitarian immigration programs is an asset.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, case management software, and digital file systems.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume caseloads.
Cross-cultural communication skills; fluency in
Urdu, Hindi, or Punjabi
is a plus.
Empathy and resilience when working with vulnerable clients.
